Hair Loss for Men

Discreet & Confidential — Evidence-Based Protocols — Excellence on Harley Street
Male pattern hair loss affects most men to some degree by their fifties — but earlier intervention consistently produces better, more sustainable results than waiting until thinning is advanced. Our medical hair loss programme for men is built around acting early and treating the cause, not just the symptom.
Understanding Male Hair Loss
The great majority of hair loss in men is androgenetic alopecia — male pattern baldness — a genetically driven, progressive process in which hair follicles become increasingly sensitive to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of testosterone. Over time, DHT sensitivity causes follicles to shrink (a process called miniaturisation), producing progressively finer, shorter hair until the follicle eventually stops producing visible hair altogether.
This is why early intervention matters so much: treatment is significantly more effective at stimulating follicles that are miniaturising than at reviving follicles that have been dormant for years. At PHP Aesthetic-Wellness, Dr Philippe Hamida-Pisal and Dr Jihyun Byun assess your specific pattern and stage of hair loss before recommending a protocol — because the right treatment, and the realistic expectation of what it can achieve, depends heavily on how advanced the process already is.
“The men who get the best results are very often the ones who come in early, before the thinning is obvious to everyone else. We can work with follicles that are struggling. We cannot bring back follicles that have been gone for a decade.”Dr Philippe Hamida-Pisal, PHP Aesthetic-Wellness
Patterns of Male Hair Loss We Treat
Popular Treatments
The three treatments below are the most frequently used in our men’s hair loss programme, often combined for a more complete result than any one alone.
PRP
Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from a small sample of your own blood and injected into the scalp, delivering a concentrated dose of growth factors directly to struggling follicles. PRP stimulates follicular stem cells, extends the active growth phase of the hair cycle, and improves the thickness of existing hair — the most evidence-supported of the three treatments here, and our most requested for men.

A bespoke micronutrient formula — including biotin, B vitamins, zinc, copper peptides, and DHT-inhibiting agents — injected directly into the scalp dermis. This bypasses the limitations of topical products entirely, delivering active ingredients to the follicle at a concentration impossible to achieve with a shampoo or serum. Frequently combined with PRP for a stronger combined effect.

Botulinum toxin injected superficially into the scalp relaxes the muscles that can restrict blood flow to hair follicles, improving local circulation and oxygen and nutrient delivery to the scalp. It also reduces scalp tension and sebum production, creating a healthier follicular environment. An emerging, increasingly popular adjunct rather than a standalone primary treatment.
