Enzyme Therapy
Targeted fat reduction and skin renewal — using the body’s own biological language, directed with clinical precision.
Enzyme therapy uses two of the body’s own naturally occurring enzymes — lipase to dissolve localised fat deposits, and collagenase to remodel fibrous tissue and renew the skin surface. At PHP Aesthetic-Wellness, every enzyme protocol is bespoke, assessed by our clinical team, and built around your anatomy and goals.
Science That Works With Your Body
Where Enzyme Therapy Makes a Difference
Enzyme therapy is a precision treatment — not a weight loss solution. It works best when matched carefully to your concern and anatomy. In a consultation we will tell you honestly whether it is the right tool for you.
How Each Enzyme Works
Lipase and collagenase act through entirely different biological mechanisms — which is why combining them in the same treatment area can address fat, texture and skin quality simultaneously.
Breaking Down Fat Cells
Lipase catalyses the hydrolysis of triglycerides — the fat stored within adipocytes — into fatty acids and glycerol. These byproducts are then naturally processed and eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system, resulting in a measurable reduction in localised fat volume in the treated area.
- Targets subcutaneous fat deposits directly
- Works with the lymphatic system for natural elimination
- Effective on abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms and under-chin
- No surgery, no energy devices, no synthetic substances
- Results cumulative across a course of sessions
Lipase works by enzymatic hydrolysis of ester bonds in triglycerides, producing free fatty acids and monoglycerides cleared via the lymphatic system.
Remodelling Fibrous Tissue
Collagenase cleaves collagen peptide bonds in a highly specific manner — targeting disordered or fibrous collagen whilst leaving healthy surrounding tissue intact. This releases the septae responsible for cellulite dimpling, softens scar tissue, and triggers new, organised collagen production.
- Releases fibrous bands causing cellulite dimpling
- Softens and remodels scar tissue
- Stimulates fresh, organised collagen formation
- Improves skin texture, elasticity and surface quality
- Benefits continue to develop as remodelling completes
Collagenase belongs to the matrix metalloproteinase family, targeting the triple-helix structure of fibrillar collagens (Types I and III).
“Enzyme therapy is not about fighting the body — it is about working with it. We are using the same biological language the body already speaks, simply directing it toward the result the patient wants.”

Localised Fat Deposits
Abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, upper arms, and under the chin — areas of stubborn fat that resist diet and exercise.
Cellulite
Collagenase releases the fibrous septae responsible for the dimpled appearance of cellulite, smoothing the skin progressively.
Skin Texture & Laxity
Collagen remodelling improves overall skin quality, firmness and surface smoothness in the treated area.
Fibrous Scar Tissue
Collagenase softens and remodels fibrous scar tissue, improving both the texture and appearance of scars over time.
Body Contouring
Combined lipase and collagenase treatments allow precise contouring — reducing volume while improving skin quality simultaneously.
Post-Weight Loss Skin
Skin that has lost elasticity following weight loss benefits from both fat dissolution and collagen renewal together.
Suitable For
Enzyme therapy is suitable for all genders and is adapted to each individual’s anatomy and goals. It is not a weight loss treatment — it is a precision contouring and skin renewal therapy for those at or near their target weight who want to address specific areas that do not respond to lifestyle changes alone.
Anyone with localised fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise
Those experiencing cellulite on the thighs, buttocks or abdomen
Patients looking to improve skin texture and firmness without surgery
Those with fibrous scar tissue affecting skin appearance
Individuals seeking body contouring with skin quality improvement combined
Patients who have experienced skin laxity following weight loss
Your Treatment Protocol
Every enzyme session at 22 Harley Street follows a precise, medically supervised pathway — from initial assessment through to aftercare and review.
The five steps
- Consultation & anatomy assessment — goals mapped, protocol designed
- Preparation — area cleansed, topical anaesthetic applied if needed
- Enzyme injection — lipase into the fat layer, collagenase into fibrous tissue
- Post-treatment care — gentle massage, aftercare guidance provided
- Course of 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart
What to expect
- Days 1–5: localised swelling and tenderness — normal and expected
- Weeks 2–4: swelling resolves, early contouring changes visible
- Weeks 4–8: fat reduction and skin texture improvement progress
- Months 3–6: full result established as collagen remodelling completes
- Results are cumulative and continue to develop between sessions
