Lip Fillers

Natural volume, definition and balance — never overdone.

PHP Aesthetic-Wellness

Lip fillers are one of the most requested treatments at our Harley Street clinic — and one of the easiest to get wrong. Overfilled, uneven or unnaturally stiff lips are usually the result of the wrong technique, the wrong product, or simply too much product placed without regard for the natural shape of your face.
At PHP Aesthetic-Wellness, lip filler is approached the French Touch way: enhancing your natural lip shape, restoring lost volume, and improving symmetry and definition — while keeping movement, expression and softness completely natural. The goal is always lips that look like *yours*, simply at their best.
Using premium hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, the treatment can address thin lips, asymmetry, loss of definition around the lip border (the "vermilion border"), fine lines above the upper lip, and a downturned or flattened lip shape that can develop with age.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE LIP FILLERS?

Lip fillers use injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) — a substance naturally found in the body — to add volume, improve shape, or restore lost definition to the lips. HA fillers are soft, flexible, and designed to move naturally with the lips, rather than creating stiffness.

WHAT CAN LIP FILLERS ACTUALLY IMPROVE?

Lip filler isn’t just about “bigger lips.” Depending on your goals, treatment can address:

  • Volume — restoring fullness to lips that have thinned with age, or simply adding volume where there was little to begin with
  • Shape and symmetry — correcting natural asymmetry between the left and right side, or refining the cupid’s bow
  • Definition — sharpening the vermilion border (the outline of the lips) for a more defined look without changing overall size dramatically
  • Hydration and smoothness — fillers can also improve the texture and hydration of the lips themselves, reducing fine vertical lines

WILL MY LIPS LOOK NATURAL?

This is the question we hear most, and it’s the right one to ask. The French Touch philosophy is built around natural-looking results — enhancing what you have rather than creating a look that doesn’t suit your face. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals honestly, including when a more conservative approach will give a better result than going bigger.

DOES IT HURT?

A topical numbing cream is typically applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure or a brief pinch rather than significant pain.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

There is minimal downtime. Some swelling, and occasionally minor bruising, is common in the first 24-48 hours — many patients choose to have treatment a few days before any special occasion to allow initial swelling to settle, even though results are visible from day one.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Most patients see results lasting 6-12 months, though this varies based on the product used, the area treated, and individual factors such as metabolism and lifestyle. Lips tend to metabolise filler slightly faster than some other facial areas due to their constant movement.

IS IT REVERSIBLE?

Yes — one of the key advantages of hyaluronic acid filler is that it can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if you’re ever unhappy with the result, or simply wish to start fresh. This reversibility is part of why HA fillers are considered a safe, flexible choice for lip enhancement.

WHO SHOULDN'T HAVE LIP FILLERS?

A full medical history and consultation is essential before any treatment. Certain conditions, medications, allergies, or being pregnant or breastfeeding may mean lip filler isn’t suitable — we’ll discuss this openly during your consultation.
